**UPDATED January 3rd** After much deliberation, we’ve decided to continue with our wedding in San José del Cabo on Feb 3rd and 4th. We’ve come to realize there’s no easy or right answer. Over a year ago when we booked the wedding, we hadn’t heard of any variants, people were being vaccinated, and there was optimism in the air! Hindsight is 2020/2021!&nbsp;&nbsp; According to what’s being reported by medical professionals, people are pretty well protected from the new variant if they are vaccinated and boosted. Further, statistics seem to show that even if contraction of Omicron happens, symptoms should be milder than previous variants. As it’s very possible these variants are going to continue, our perspective is that we will have to adjust and be cautious but not completely overhaul our lives. However, we completely understand and respect other perspectives.&nbsp; We are going to move forward, and do our best to have a safe and fun wedding!&nbsp; As such, we are requesting a few extra steps by guests to ensure that everyone at the wedding feels as comfortable as possible:&nbsp; Vaccinations and BoostersA reminder that we’re asking all guests to be vaccinated and boosted. Covid testsBefore you travel: We would like all guests to take a Covid test (PCR, lateral flow, or antigen) before leaving your home country to ensure you’re not positive and asymptomatic. Testing before you leave is not only a way to help reduce risk of transmission to others, but also reduce the risk of you getting stuck (and having to quarantine) in Mexico. Before the events: We will provide all guests with a rapid test to take on Thursday, February 3rd, ahead of the Sangeet welcome party (15 min to complete).- For all guests staying at Cabo Azul, we will ensure you receive this.- For all guests staying elsewhere, please arrange to stop by the hotel and pick up a test from us.&nbsp;&nbsp;- Please text your results to the appropriate people below by 1pm on Thursday, Feb 3rd.- Surnames A-M: Jennifer Zhan at +1 630 229 8988- Surnames N-Z: Sandhia Ramdoo +44 7884 444797 Before you leave: A reminder that all travelers will likely require a negative Covid test to re-enter your home country. You can purchase a test online to bring with you (just make sure it’s valid for travel back into your specific country), OR:- Cabo Azul can help arrange these at the hotel for a cost of $40 USD (with one hour results).- If you are staying at another hotel, they will also likely have PCR and Antigen tests available.- If you are staying at an Airbnb or VRBO, our planner recommends <a href="https://prmedica-inc.com/pages/authorized-testing-station-for-covid-19#TestingStation" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">PR Medica</a>. They have a facility but also travel to give tests and other treatments. **IF YOU TEST POSITIVE** According to the <a href="https://mx.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information-for-u-s-citizens-in-mexico/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">US Embassy website</a>, "You must self-isolate and delay your travel. Do not travel until you have recovered completely from COVID-19". In other words, you will need to stay in Mexico until you have proof of a negative test result. Additional precautions- All events are taking place outside.- Hand sanitizer will be readily available and encouraged at all events.&nbsp;- Masks will be required on all event transportation.- Staff will be masked at all times.- Masks are encouraged for any time you may feel uncomfortable! Please note, the CDC recommends medical/N95 masks rather than cloth masks for higher protection against Omicron.

What is a Sangeet Night?

During an Indian wedding, the Sangeet is an event held before the wedding filled with dance, music, and colour! We'll finally be together from all over the world and we're excited to kick off the wedding with some fun!

What should I wear? 

The dress code is semi formal. Indian wear is welcome for both women and men, though definitely not mandatory! Either way, Sangeets are fun, colorful events, so feel free to represent that in what you wear!

VenueFlora Farms is a well known restaurant in Mexico but it is also, as the name suggests, a farm! The whole day will be spent outside, amongst the trees, flowers, mango groves and produce. Flora Farms is about 10-15 minutes drive from Cabo Azul / San Jose del Cabo. TransportationWe will organize transportation for the guests from Cabo Azul. If you aren't staying at Cabo Azul but would still like to be included in the transportation, please just let us know and we can create room for you on the shuttle (pick up will still be Cabo Azul). We will let you know what time pick up/ drop offs will be closer to the time. If you choose to arrive at the venue independently, please don't be alarmed with how rustic the roads/ surroundings are! Time4:30pm to 10:30pm What to wearBlack tie optional Flat shoes! Most of your time will be spent on grass so please avoid high/ sharp heels. Wedges, flats, sandals and such will be fine. The temperature drops when the sun goes down, so please also bring something to cover your arms with (though we will have heaters if it's particularly cold). AfterpartyOur after party will be at at Dalton Gin Bar in downtown San Jose Del Cabo. We'll arrange for shuttles from Flora Farms to Dalton's, and then from Dalton's back to Cabo Azul. Please note, Dalton Gin Bar is a rooftop terrace bar. We will have an area secured for the afterparty, however please note that we will not have full exclusive use of the terrace. We feel comfortable because this is an airy rooftop, but we do want guests to know this ahead of time.

If you're coming from the UK, things are a bit more complex! Direct from London?Prior to Covid there were direct flights from London to SJD. *UPDATE* We have just heard from British Airways that this direct flight will not be coming back ahead of the wedding. I know. Gutted. Thank you so much for still wanting to come! Trisha's parents are coming through SF. We will be in Cabo from Sunday 30 January. 1) The quickest route!The quickest route is 15 hours and 50 mins on the way there, 13 hours 10 on the way back, stopping in Dallas.SkyScanner is a great place to work this out. 2) Make a trip out of it!Building in a day or two somewhere in the States or Mexico such as Mexico City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Seattle, Chicago, New York or Vancouver (there are direct flights from London to all of these places)!

For ordering outside food to the hotel, Uber Eats is available but with limited options. There is a local company called Cabo Eats that has a variety of options. We tested this out the first night with ordering Chinese food - success! It did take about an hour in total.
